Louis Vuitton Pre Fall 2013 - Speedy 30 Paillettes / Sequin Speedy 30

When I first saw the pictures of the Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall'13 collection back in January there was a bag that stood out and quickly became my favourite LV bag of this year.

The Damier Speedy Paillettes or Sequin Speedy is your traditional Damier Ebene Speedy with a twist. Tiny sequins have been sown on top of darker square's of the Damier print slightly off centre which between the two layers creates a 3-dimensional effect. The usual chocolate coloured leather handles and trims have been replaced with coloured versions to match the sequins on the body of the bag.

The Speedy Paillettes is only available in the Speedy 30 size meaning it measures in at 30cm x 21cm x 17cm, but it is available in three colour options; Black, Blue and Red (not shown)

Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2013 First Look!

It must be your lucky week, first we had some sneak peeks of the Louis Vuitton Damier Paillette Speedy and the Tuffetage Trouville and now I'm delighted to be able to show you the first look at the Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2013 Collection.

I have posted images from the Louis Vuitton FW'13 show when it first aired but at that time it was unknown which bags would make it into the final collection, now that that list has been refined let's see if your favourite made the cut.

It's a little too early for details on these bags but here's what I know so far:

• Fall Winter Collections usually start arriving at Louis Vuitton around August/September
• The Fur Speedies and Pochette's are Mink and the handles are hand antiqued exotic wood.
• The Python Speedy has handles made from Horn (from what is unknown)
• The Waxed Crocodile Lockits and Pochette style bags feature chain handles interwoven with precious stones.
• The really fluffy Speedies in the last picture are made from Marabou Feathers.
• The Monogram Speedy in the first picture is petite in fact it's smaller than a 25.

So that's the Fall Winter collection in a nutshell, do you have any favourites right now?

For Louis Vuitton lovers, the perfect bag charm

Despite having its detractors here and there, Louis Vuitton is a brand that’s overwhelming adored in the fashion industry in general, but by handbag lovers in particular. There is a certain amount of respect given to any brand that has a brand identity as strong as Vuitton’s; that’s not a simple feat to accomplish by any stretch of the imagination. (Just ask all the people who’ve tried to restart Halston over the years.)
Sporting the very recognizable LV monogram, along with the monogram flowers, the Louis Vuitton Fleur D’Epi Bag Charm would make a perfect gift for any of Vuitton’s many hardcore devotees.

Let me get right to the price, which is a major hindrance for sure; Louis Vuitton is asking $465 for this charm. It is so off-putting when you realize that for that price, you’re halfway to buying an entire bag from the company. However, this charm is timeless if you love monogram LV, and because it is made with an Epi-effect grained resin, these charms will be incredibly sturdy. World’s scariest trainer Jillian Michaels makes lifting Louis Vuitton look easy

We know Jillian Michaels isn’t a stranger to weightlifting, so it’s no surprise that she’s handling her giant Louis Vuitton Mon Monogram Keepall like it’s a clutch. Man Bag Monday: Louis Vuitton Fall 2013 Men’s Accessories

For reasons that are perhaps obvious, I don’t follow men’s fashion as closely as I do women’s, but I love to look through the looks after the Louis Vuitton men’s show every season. Vuitton is a unique brand in that it has almost equal appeal to both genders; where most companies specialize, Vuitton achieves equal-opportunity luxury. When you take a look through these pictures of the bags, shoes and accessories from Louis Vuitton Fall 2013, it’s not difficult to see why no one can get enough LV.

Vuitton menswear chief Kim Jones drew the collection’s inspiration from his travels to Nepal and Bhutan, which were reflected most clearly in the lovely unisex florals that dotted the collection, including several of its bags. There’s also plenty of shearling, which gives a nod to the sherpas of that especially mountainous region of Asia.

Love it or Leave it: Louis Vuitton Speedy Cube

Everyone knows the iconic Louis Vuitton Speedy, and everyone also knows that Louis Vuitton updates this coveted classic with each season. For Louis Vuitton Spring 2013, Vuitton creative director Marc Jacobs decided to add a geometric note with lots and lots of squares. Checks make a huge appearance, but my attention went to this updated version of the LV classic, which has been dubbed the Louis Vuitton Speedy Cube.

An updated treatment on the Damier pattern, the Damier Facette is made with brushed shiny calf leather and a structured English frame. There is something fun and different about these bags, a bit more playful. The structured frame helps combat one of the biggest complaints about the LV Speedy, its lack of shape, and gives a specific dimensionality to the bag. Available in both MM and PM in a variety of colors, the price varies from $1,990-$2,280. Our question is, what do you think, love it or leave it?

 

The Neverfull and Noe came together to create the Louis Vuitton Noefull MM

Louis Vuitton will never let us down when it comes to finding a way to add in its iconic monogram logo onto each new season of bags. It’s part of the genius behind the brand; the company has a knack for continuously showing us its logo on anything and everything they create. Maybe you aren’t into the logo, but clearly millions of people are, and that’s clear from the massive sales numbers and easily recognizable monogram. Personally, I tend to stay away from the logo, but when LV does it well, it lures me into thinking I need a seasonal piece that is every bit as “Louis Vuitton” as it is trendy.
The Louis Vuitton Noefull MM caught my attention with its ikat floral print and seamless combination of the Neverfull and Neoe bags from the brand. The drawstring closure allows the bag to expand to resemble the ever popular Neverfull tote, but with a pinch of the drawstring, you end up with another classic, the Noe. When the two come together, it makes for a chic marriage of the two classics, dubbed the Noefull. Not only is the shape pretty cool, but the floral ikat canvas print is chic as well. Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2013 - Damier Facette Speedy Cube

Since the launch day is fast approaching I wanted to show you the first of the Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2013 collection to be released. The Damier Facette Speedy Cube was not in the actual runway show but closely resembles the popular men's Damier Infini range which happens to have some fantastic neon keepalls this season.

At this point there is only one bag being produced which is the Speedy Cube but there is a small selection of small leather goods, the ever popular zippy wallet, the smaller zippy coin purse and the porte carte simple (a simple credit card holder).

There are three colour options in the range but as is often the case not every item is available in every colour so here's how it breaks down:

Speedy Cube PM - Jaune and Creme £1160*
Speedy Cube MM - Camel and Creme £1330*

Zippy Wallet - Jaune, Camel and Creme £535*
Zippy Coin Purse - Jaune and Camel £290*
Porte Carte Simple - Jaune and Creme £145*

Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2013 - Damier Mosaic Enveloppe

As you may recall from a previous post the Louis Vuitton Damier Facette collection was released today and is the first of the Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2013 releases but as it happens it wasn't the only one.

The Damier Mosaic bags despite looking like a rather simple checkerboard print are actually two different coloured leathers woven to create the Check design. The bag has two variations the smaller, a square version the second an East/West (longer than it is tall).
Of all the various collections that make up the Vuitton S/S '13 releases these I feel are the one's with the strongest retro feel you can definitely see the 60's influence both in the shape and the combination of the checkerboard and plain flap detail.

Each style has two colour ways Yellow/White and Brown/White, the Enveloppe PM retails for £1890 and the Enveloppe East/West for £215. Since these are just released and limited edition they are only available in stores at this time, contact Louis Vuitton for assistance with any purchases.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Neverfull Shoes for Summer

Last Month I showed you the new Louis Vuitton Monogram Neverfull for Summer and promised there would be more to come so today I'd like to show you the footwear that will released to match the Summer collection.

Let's start with the Monogram Pumps; there are two versions of the Monogram Pumps to be released, the first features a tall heel and hidden platform, the second a slightly lower heeled version without the platform. Both pairs of shoes feature a small peep toe and are lined in the Ikat Floral Print just like the Neverfull's. Personally I would have liked to see a little more use of the colour or print since as soon as you place your foot inside the shoe you will no longer be able to see it.

If like me you'd like to see more print well then you are in luck since the second style of shoes to be released see the whole shoe in Vernis Leather with the Floral Ikat. Again they come in two heel heights and this time feature a pointed toe finished with a patent colour matched toe cap. The final shoe focuses on the colours used in the Summer collection and is again in the peep toe style, the Oh Really! pumps are part of the classic shoe collection for Vuitton and are currently available in a small selection of colours including Rose Velours, the paler pink in the Summer Collection. April will see the introduction of the Oh Really! in Rose Indien and Grand Bleu to at least one option is all three of the summer colours.

If you are a fan of the Grand Bleu then you will be happy to learn that is also set to be a new Monogram Vernis colour and will be launched on a number of small leather goods and bags.

Jessica Simpson Charmingly Carries Her Louis Vuitton Bag

 

There’s no denying that Jessica Simpson loves Louis Vuitton and designer purses in a sense. We’ve actually seen her with this particular LV bag just last month, where she’s wearing sweats and looking a bit gloomy (probably because of her break up with Tony Romo). Now, she’s back in her old self, dressed perfectly lady-like and simply glamorous.

This single starlet paired her monogram Louis Vuitton purse with her summery floral frock, which is indeed her fashion style. The frock may be too busy with lots of prints and pairing it with a printed LV bag may probably make her facade even busier, but at least it seems like she loves her outfit with that sweet smile. Simple, elegant and a quintessential symbol of luxury travel; the Speedy remains a fashion favorite more than eighty years after its debut.

After moving to Paris in 1834, Louis Vuitton began creating travelling trunks for wealthy residents of the city. The success of this endeavor led to the foundation of the Louis Vuitton fashion house in 1854.

The Speedy joined the ranks of Vuitton’s prestigious creations in the early 1930s, shortly after the release of the Keepall and Noé designs.

Known for its versatility, the Speedy glides across demographics and has as much appeal for the young as it does for those with a more mature fashion style.



Lady Gaga, Jessica Simpson and Angelina Jolie have all been spotted with a Speedy in hand. Audrey Hepburn was often seen as the unofficial face of the Speedy in the 1960s, with photographs of her clutching the legendary bag helping to make the brand popular.

Speedy sizes range from petite all the way through to large. Starting at around $650, the Speedy is one of the more affordable designs on the luxury market.

It is also considered to be especially durable, with its tough canvas exterior and Vachetta leather handles made for long-lasting use.



While the Monogram and Damier Canvas patterns are most often associated with the Speedy bag, Louis Vuitton is always coming up with new styles for those not particularly fond of logo prints.
Interestingly enough, Louis Vuitton introduced the Damier Canvas pattern to combat the imitation of his designs in the late nineteenth-century.

The Speedy is a testament to the practical roots of Louis Vuitton design, while also managing to embody an eternal elegance. It’s no wonder the bag has been around for so long.

Louis Vuitton Parnasséa Collection

 

 

OMG, leathers that Hermès is famous for is now being used in the Louis Vuitton Parnasséa Collection. Box and Taurillon are skins that have long been coveted by bag aficionados. Chosen for their suppleness and interesting grain, the Icons: Alma and SC Bag and the new designs: Capucines and Vivienne excite me as I review these photos.

 

 

My favourite thus far is the Capucines. I LVoe the placement of the initials. Now, the only issue is the price point of these beauties. Slated to be released this July 2013, I can't wait to see them in real life.

 

Rebel Wilson carries a personalized Louis Vuitton Speedy

Here’s one of my fave funny gals, Rebel Wilson, mucking about in midtown Manhattan and carrying a Louis Vuitton Mon Monogram Speedy 30 Bag. I love how Rebel’s stripe and monogram customization perfectly match the shade of her lip color. Rebel is the second celeb we’ve seen rocking the Mon Monogram this week – Alexa Chung was spotted ferrying her customized LV suitcase around Manhattan mere days ago. Hi guys! I am still having inner turmoil about what louis vuitton keepall 55 to get - size + strap/strapless and I had a thought that I wanted to get out. Let's say you were going on a weekend trip and had a keepall 50/55 reasonably packed and you were lugging it around with the bandouliere strap - would the strap cause any points of stress or cause any damage to the bag in the long run because of how the straps attach to the bag? Has anyone had an issue with this? I would really like to know! THANKS I haven't had mine for long but I don't think any of that will be a problem. Louis Vuitton is a travel goods maker and I think as such, something like the keepall (which is primarily a louis vuitton duffle bag) will be tough enough to withstand abuse. Not to mention the keepalls with straps have leather running down the sides where the strap attaches (in other words the strap is not attached to actual bag). This is also true for where the handles are. Another thing to consider is proper weight distribution when packing. LV's website has a video on packing the keepall for some ideas. The Pre-Spring 2013 keepalls are a bit different in that they don't have straps running around the bag. I'd be careful with those if I had one...otherwise I think the louis vuitton luggage replica are pretty durable. description:

Louis Vuitton Menilmontant Collection

Please allow me to raise a question first. Is it just that simple to design a bag? When I came across Louis Vuitton Menilmontant, I just realized fashion could be so easy! Louis Vuitton has once again had those classic Monogram canvas and cowhide leather combined and made them into another piece of art, which doesn’t look gorgeous, but classic and comfortable at least. Don’t get me wrong, I totally agree that it must be an ideal day and night bag for women.

Obviously, this is a hand-free shoulder bag without superfluous print or embellishments. The only eye-catching part on the bag is its front pleats which make it feminine and take it out of dullness and lifelessness. The iconic cowhide trim still plays a significant role here on the bag. Coming with an adjustable shoulder strap, it allows you to carry either across your body or single side on your shoulder. Though there is no big surprise outside of the bag worth mentioning, here comes a functional detail at the back size making a tremendous difference. It’s a zip pocket that is particularly designed for bits and bobs.
